FAQ

What metal do you use for the earrings?

All my earrings are made with hypoallergenic stainless steel hooks and posts – they’re nickel-free and perfect for sensitive ears. I’ve had so many people say they’ve finally found earrings they can wear all day without irritation.  Click here if you want to know more about metal allergies.

Are the bigger earrings heavy?

Not at all! Because they are made from polymer clay, even the boldest designs are surprisingly lightweight. You can easily wear them all day without that nagging pull we all know so well.  I often see people pick them up, expecting them to be heavy, and then gasp – in a good way!

I’m buying a gift – how do I know what to choose?

A little snoop on the recipient's social media selfies will often give you helpful hints into figuring out the colour, metal tones and size to go for.  If you’re not sure what they wear, I’d suggest a pair of small danglies – they’re super versatile and a top choice for gifts. They come in a wide variety of colours and shapes that work with just about anything. If you're still not sure, maybe consider a gift voucher, and give them the gift of choice!  Click here to see the small danglies or here to buy a gift voucher.

What colours do you offer?

I mix all my colours by hand – so what you see in the shop is totally unique to my studio. No off-the-shelf clay blocks here! Patterned designs are always limited edition, and solid colours are often seasonal.  Some come back when they sell out,  the newsletter will give you a heads-up. But mostly, when they're gone they're gone :)

Can you tell me more about the materials?

Each piece is made entirely from polymer clay – that means the colours and patterns are part of the clay itself. No paints or prints, just lots of time, skill, and layers of love.  Want to know more about how the patterns are made?  Click here

What if I need to return something?

If something’s not quite right, just drop me an email and return them within 14 days of getting your order. Earrings do need to be unworn (for hygiene reasons), but I’ll always do my best to help. Full returns info is here.

Something broke – can you fix it?

I offer lifetime support on all my jewelry. If it's a metal issue it can often be fixed.  If its the clay itself I'll need a photo to see how I can help.  I want you to wear them for years and I'll do my very best to help if at all possible.  Just message me.

Where are your pieces made?

Right here in my home studio in the Boyne Valley, Ireland. Everything is made by me, by hand – from mixing the clay to shaping, baking, sanding, and assembling.  Just imagine me like those circus acts with the spinning plates - you won't be far off!

Do you accept custom or personalized orders?

I'm always open to discussing larger custom orders for wedding parties, corporate gifts or retail.

Do you offer wholesale options for retailers?

Yes, I do offer wholesale options. If you're interested in stocking MarleseMade jewelry in your store, click here to find out more.

How should I care for my polymer clay jewelry?

To keep your jewelry looking its best, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid bending or dropping the pieces, and clean them gently with a soft, damp cloth if needed.  They clay itself won't change colour but any glazed pieces will start to yellow if exposed to direct sunlight for long periods, so please don't leave on windowsills or such.
